Diet can and does do wonders for your health, but to be the total package , you need to get moving.

Exercise improves digestion, mood, skin, helps you fight off infections and  so much more.

If you are groaning right now, believe me , I have been there.  The couch is a truly inviting piece of furniture that is practically a crime to have to leave.

But , leave it we must .  Exercise of some type is vital if you are going to be truly healthy so it's time to grieve for your couch potato days and go forth !

Here are my top 3 tips to get you moving

  1. Ready , Steady , Go!

No need  to sign away your first born for a gym membership or humilate yourself at the local football team training night (been there ...)

Look for ways to move.  Go up and down the stairs a few times, walk to the end of the road and back, get up and do something at each advert break instead of fast forwarding.  Chase the dog/kids around the garden or park (make sure it's your dog or kids though, else you could find yourself in a bit of bother).

Whatever it is, all movement counts – science is telling us sitting for hours is the new killer on the block

  2. Steady does it

Deciding to exercise every day from a couching start is a recipe for disaster.  Instead, commit to one day a week and do that until it's a habit, then increase to 2 days a week and go from there

  3. Roll up Roll up

Sign up for an event , even better if it's for charity . The fear of humiliation at the very least will spur you on to train for it.  You will hate it (and possibly me ), but you will do it.
